Law No. 157 of 2024 Amending Certain Provisions of the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law Issued under Law No. 13 of 1968

The President of the Republic

The House of Representatives has decreed the following law, and it is hereby enacted: 

Article No. 1

The phrase “two hundred thousand pounds” shall replace the phrase “one hundred thousand pounds,” the phrase “thirty thousand pounds” shall replace the phrase “fifteen thousand pounds,” and the phrase “five hundred thousand pounds” shall replace the phrase “two hundred and fifty thousand pounds” wherever any of them are stipulated in Articles (41), (420) first paragraph, (43), (47) first paragraph, (248), and (480) of

the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law issued under Law No. 13 of 1968.

Article No. 2

 Lawsuits filed before the enforcement of the provisions of this law shall continue to be considered before the courts before which they are being heard until a final judgment is issued. This shall be in accordance with the conditions, procedures, and appeal methods in effect at the time they were filed.

Article No. 3

 Any provision contrary to the provisions of this law is hereby repealed

Article No. 4

 This law shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into effect on the first of October following its publication.

This law shall be stamped with the State Seal and enforced as one of its laws. Issued at the Presidency of the Republic on the (3rd of Muharram, 1446 AH), corresponding to (July 19, 2024 AD/calendar year).
